🚀Other Scaling Solutions

While the Pond achieves significant improvements for Cardano dApps, this implementation is not mutually exclusive to the many exciting scaling solutions being developed which can provide even greater benefits.

Zero Knowledge

The Pond and it's associated modules have been built from the ground up to achieve a seamless upgrade path to employ zero knowledge proofs as a means to drastically improve throughput. While the smart account achieves scaling at the dApp level, the upgrade to Plutus V3 grants access to new primitives to scale performance and efficiency at the smart contract level and/or transaction level.

Layer 2

The modular design of each feature also enables a wide range of opportunities to extend toward layer 2 solutions such as Hydra. Every Pondora feature is built as an independent, opt-in module. This makes it practical to delegate validation of certain features (eg. Gaming) to Hydra heads, that require a greater emphasis on transaction speed.
